Fans of Asian culture, get ready for an unforgettable experience! The FanAsia festival is back in full force and promises an even richer program than ever before.

What is FanAsia?

FanAsia is a (pop) culture festival focused on the spread of Asian culture. Since its inception in 2011, when it was called Otakon and focused on Japanese culture, the festival has undergone several transformations. In 2012, it was renamed Nipponfest and added the Korean section Hangukon. In the fall of 2023, the name was changed again to FanAsia, which brought an expansion of the program offering to other Asian countries.

• Location: Dom kultúry Zrkadlový háj, Rovniankova 3, Bratislava - Slovakia

What can you look forward to?

The festival will offer three main program lines focused on Japan, Korea and a mix of other Asian countries such as Vietnam, China and Thailand.
Visitors can look forward to:

• Lectures: Interesting topics related to Asian culture, traditions and modern trends.
• Workshops: Hands-on workshops where you can try traditional crafts, calligraphy, martial arts or dance.
• Competitions: Popular Cosplay, K-pop and Digital Art competitions where you can show off your talents.
• Performances: Live performances of traditional and modern Asian music and dance, or demonstrations of martial arts.
• Thematic sales stands: Opportunity to purchase Asian cosmetics, merchandise or taste exotic foods.
• Traditional clothes: Try on a Japanese kimono or Korean hanbok and take a photo in the photo booth.
• Asian-style afterparty: A party filled with popular Asian music, from K-pop to anime openings.

[When entering the festival, each visitor will receive an armband that must be presented at the festival throughout the weekend. A visitor who loses or damages (tear) the tape during the weekend will have to purchase a new ticket, with which he will receive a new tape.]
