TEDxBratislava 2026: Dotyk ľahkosti

Touch of lightness is a moment when something subtle yet powerful catches us by surprise. It is a lightness that carries weight.

It can hold reality without diminishing it. It offers no shortcuts. It creates a space where answers can take shape naturally. Because of this, we are able to move forward, even when the connections remain complex.

The TEDxBratislava 2026 event will take place on Saturday, May 30, at the Umelka Gallery.

Umelka Gallery, originally the Slovak Art Association, is considered one of the symbols of the rise of modern architecture in Slovakia. This elegant early functionalist building by architects Alois Balán and Jiří Grossmann will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2026.

The space has undergone a sensitive reconstruction based on a design by BOGAR Architekti. As originally intended, it continues to serve as a vibrant and independent place for art, artists, and art lovers—for mutual inspiration and public discussion. Its simplicity and purity allow what truly matters—the content and ideas—to stand out.

We will celebrate the centennial of Umelka Gallery in the most fitting way. We will breathe life into it through ideas worth spreading. This space was created for exactly that purpose.
